Shiv Kumar Report : Addressing the inaugural function of ASEAN-India Network of Universities (AINU), Minister of State for External Affairs Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh described the efforts of Nalanda University as unprecedented. In his address, Hon'ble Minister of State said, "I express my gratitude towards Nalanda University. The role of this university is important in implementing the educational partnership between the educational institutions of ASEAN countries and India as desired by our Prime Minister.
The Inaugural Ceremony of the ASEAN-India Network of Universities (AINU) was held in Jakarta yesterday to commemorate 30 years of ASEAN-India relations. In his address at the beginning of the program, the Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof. Sunaina Singh said that “Nalanda as the nodal institution of AINU is playing an active role in the implementation of Asian countries relations and mutual cooperation. Nalanda as a symbol of global educational institution has represented ancient Asian knowledge-tradition for 800 years. At present also through Nalanda efforts are being made to strengthen the centuries old civilizational and cultural ties between the countries of South East Asia and India through diplomatic channels. These efforts will strengthen our relations with Asian countries and Mutual commitment towards promoting peace, stability and prosperity will also develop."
Describing the reconstruction of Nalanda as a historic event, the Vice Chancellor said that "Nalanda has been revived after almost a millennium and Nalanda is being re-established in its new avatar. Nalanda aims to promote global peace and cooperation through knowledge". Is. "
After the Vice-Chancellor's address, ASEAN Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi expressed his gratitude for India's continued cooperation and support to ASEAN countries, saying that "I am pleased that a shared understanding for mutual cooperation on research and innovation through the ASEAN-India Network." As the nodal institution of AINU, Nalanda University is working towards providing opportunities for mutual cooperation and linking of excellent educational institutions of India to the universities of ASEAN countries. Several other initiatives are being taken through AINU including creation of a Common Resource Centre. This will not only provide opportunities for mutual skill-ability and information exchange of latest technology between India and ASEAN countries, as well as develop the ability of the new generation of ASEAN countries to understand and assimilate the ancient values of India.
