Nalanda and Muzaffarpur districts have been selected as Demonstration Districts to strengthen health services by the Central and State Government.

A meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of the District Officer with the objective of better coordination between various government hospitals and health institutions in the district and to bring qualitative improvement in health services.
In the meeting, reasons for the quality of health services in the district were discussed. The lack of medical infrastructure human resources etc. were discussed. The need for capacity addition of human resources for improving health services was stated. For this, initiative will be taken to provide quality training at all levels.
Dr. Narendra Khalpade of Care India will impart training to the doctors of the district for better medical facility with the objective of reducing maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate.
Initiatives are also being taken to provide necessary resources to develop referral hospital Chandi, referral hospital Kalyan Bigha, subdivision hospital Hilsa and subdivision hospital Rajgir as a first referral unit for better medical care. Blood storage facility will also be made available in all these hospitals.
For safe delivery, the labor room will also be made more and more convenient. Action will be taken to take the service of all non-qualified trained nurses in the labor room.
The resources of each other will be used for better healthcare through better coordination between different hospitals and Pavpuri Medical College.
The meeting was attended by the Principal of Medical College Pawapuri, Civil Surgeon, Dr. Narendra Khalpade of Care India, District Resource Unit Team Lead Jitendra Kumar Mishra and other officials of the Health Department.
