District officer reviews Prime Minister Housing Scheme and seven decision schemes

Late Monday, District Officer Yogendra Singh held a meeting with all the Block Development Officers through video conferencing.
The meeting reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan and seven decision schemes.
The completion of housing construction was found to be unsatisfactory against the target set under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. The District Officer expressed displeasure over the situation of completion of accommodation in Bind and Sarmara. He directed all Block Development Officers to ensure regular review with all Housing Assistants. Block development officers were instructed to visit Panchayats and negotiate with beneficiaries and complete the construction of the house. Within a week, all the blocks were directed to ensure 100 per cent sanction against the target. All the block development officers were instructed to be informed about the progress of completion of construction of the house every day.
Under the Lohia Swachh Bihar campaign, community toilets are being constructed to provide toilet facilities to the disadvantaged. For this, community toilets have to be constructed according to the survey conducted at the panchayat level in all the blocks. All Block Development Officers were instructed to start construction of community toilets in all identified Panchayats / Tolls and complete them at a rapid pace.
Under the seven decisions, the construction work of the paved street drain was instructed to start in all the abandoned wards. In some wards, construction of paved gully drain was found to be hampered due to the work being done by PHED under Nal Jal Yojana. Taking immediate cognizance of this, the District Officer directed the Executive Engineer PHED to complete the work of the schemes of tap water without any delay.
Deputy Development Commissioner, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, Bihar Sharif and other Sub-Divisional Officers and all Block Development Officers were connected through video conferencing.
