District Officer reviewed the works of Agriculture, Fisheries and other departments

District officer Yogendra Singh today reviewed the works of agriculture, fisheries, dairy, livelihood etc. departments.

The District Agriculture Officer was instructed to conduct a quick survey of crop damage due to unexpected rains that occurred last week.

The District Fisheries Officer was directed to ensure the achievement as per the target set in all schemes related to fisheries. There is a provision for 50% grant under the scheme of Advanced Inputs for pond fisheries. 100 applications have been received in the district under this scheme Against which 61 applications have been approved and work order has been given for 52. The District Officer directed to ensure the execution of all received applications as per the departmental directive. The beneficiaries were asked to ensure prompt payment of the installment amount. There is also a provision of 50% grant under the scheme for improved fish seed production. Out of 22 applications received under this scheme, 16 whose work orders have also been issued. The District Officer directed to ensure speedy execution of all received applications. The distribution of moped ice box, three wheeler and four wheeler has been made to 100 per cent beneficiaries against the set target through ninety percent grant to fishermen related to fisheries business for scheduled castes and backward castes. Applications received in excess of the target are placed on the waiting list. Three wheeler and four wheeler have been distributed among the 100 percent beneficiaries against the target. The District Officer also received the application under KCC for maximum number of fishermen and directed to get its approval through the respective banks.

There is a provision of grant of 50% of the plan amount for the general category and 75% of the plan amount for the scheduled castes category for 2, 4, 6 and 10 milch cattle under the overall cattle development scheme through the District Gavya Development Office. In the current financial year, a target of 235 for the general category and 27 for the scheduled caste category is set. Under this scheme, so far, 271 applications have been sent to banks for the scheme of two cattle, 42 for the four cattle scheme, 33 for the six milch cattle scheme and 10 for the 10 milch cattle scheme. Out of which 122 units have been set up in general category and 4 in scheduled caste category so far. The District Officer directed the District Lead Manager to ensure bank-wise review of applications sent to various banks and ensure its execution.

DPM Jeevika told that all trappers are being trained to make palm juice available to the Neera plant. The process of extracting the juice from the palm has not started yet. This process will be started within 10 days from the next one week. After which the Neera plant will be supplied through the collector. Two clusters have been identified for organic farming by Jeevika. Other clusters are also being identified for this. Jeevika group for organic farming will also be benefited from the schemes in coordination with the Department of Agriculture. To provide agricultural equipments for hire to the farmers, 6 customer hiring centers are being prepared by Jeevika. Three of these centers have been identified. Action is being taken to identify three more centers. Different types of equipment used in agricultural work at these centers, such as tractors, planters,
