Honorable Member of Parliament of Nalanda, Kaushalendra Kumar, raising the matter under Rule 377 in Lok Sabha, said that there is an urgent need to rebuild the library of ancient Nalanda University under Nalanda. You know that the ancient Nalanda University was the center of knowledge all over the world. Kumaragupta I, the ruler of the dynasty, did this university between 450 - 470 AD It was a wonderful example of its era, there was a system of reading of more than 10,000 students and there were more than two thousand teachers. All these students were mostly foreigners, mainly Korea, Japan, China, Tibet, Indonesia, Fa There used to be Turkish countries etc. There was also a huge library building for him. It is said that this library had more than 3 lakh important books of knowledge. Nalanda was an important and renowned center of higher education in India at that time. In this education center of Mahayana Buddhism, students of other religions and other countries studied along with Hinayana Buddhism. In the university, Acharya used to teach students by oral lectures. Grammar, philosophy, surgery, astrology, yoga science, and medical science were also under the syllabus. Scholars believe that the science of making metal sculptures was also studied here. There was a special department for astronomy studies, the library located in this world-famous university was of the 9th floor. Which was the center of study of thousands of students and Acharya. The credit for the discovery of the remains of this Buddhist university goes to Alexander Cunningham. And medical science was also under the syllabus. Mr. Kumar said that in 1199, the Turkish ruler Bakhtiar Khilji, who was also the Mughal ruler of Bihar. The Nalanda University was set on fire. It is said that there were so many books in the university that there was a fire in the library here for the whole 3 months. He did all this cruel work to destroy the achievements of ancient India.
MP Shri Kaushalendra Kumar demanded through the House that Central Government should provide full support for the establishment of a modern library like the ancient library at Nalanda University so that our young generation can get to know about its glorious history in future. Can do.
