KHABRE TV : 9334598481 : A lecture program under the 'G20 University Connect: Engaging Young Minds' series was organized yesterday at Sushma Swaraj Auditorium, Nalanda University. The program was organized in collaboration with RIS (Research and Information System for Developing Countries). There was active participation of eminent scholars and diplomats from India and abroad.
The program started with the address of Professor Sunaina Singh, Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University. In his speech, he highlighted that in today's changing world, it is India's priority to realize the ancient Indian ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and maintain global unity, which is part of the G20's 'One Earth One Family One Future' initiative under the chairmanship of India. is embodied in the motto. , He said that while many countries of the world are showing a decline in the economic growth rate, India is making progress in its literacy and GDP growth rate. India has also emerged as a software powerhouse with over a hundred young entrepreneurs creating unicorns. He pointed out that the five-point principles of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi called 'Panchamrit' are relevant in today's times.
After the Vice Chancellor's address, Ambassador J.S. Mukul, who is also the former Dean of the Sushma Swaraj Foreign Service Institute, New Delhi, highlighted the importance of India's chairmanship of the G20. He underlined the dominance of India in the G20 forum and the importance of the current chairmanship. Ambassador J.S. Mukul also highlighted the role of India as the global representative of the South-countries. In this context, he also said that it is of great importance to develop the tradition of knowledge-creator of Nalanda University.

Young Economist, Udyog-Ratna Awardee, and Director of India Foundation Shri Shaurya Doval said that India is poised to play an important role in the global perspective in future where Nalanda University will help in restoring India as a world-guru again. will have a major role. He said that we aim to achieve $30 trillion economy by the next 25 years and our progress in the last 10 years assures us of this lofty position. Many countries will benefit from India's prosperity, nearly 40% of the world's population and youth will be its direct beneficiaries. He also said that we have to come out of the colonial mindset and emerge with confidence. Expressing hope that the tradition of Nalanda could offer the world an alternative socio-economic model with indigenous ideas, he characterized the modern "Nalanda University as a beacon of humanity, progress and a secure world".
The lecture session was followed by a panel discussion on strengthening IBSA cooperation during India's G20 Presidency. In the keynote address, former Ambassador Virendra Gupta elaborated on the important role of IBSA in bringing closer the mutual relations between India, Brazil and South Africa. Other experts from Brazil, South Africa and India presented their researched views in this regard.
In yesterday's program, discussion on other important points including question and answer took place between the invited speakers and NU students. Professors, students and administrative staff of the university were also present in the programme. The distinguished guests and scholars appreciated the successful efforts of the Vice Chancellor for the overall development of Nalanda and his experiments in reviving the tangible and intangible aspects of this ancient land of knowledge.
Nalanda has been a symbol of Asian wisdom for centuries. The University is getting ready to embark on a similar journey once again in its new avatar. Under the leadership of the present Vice-Chancellor, several new initiatives have been taken in the last few years which are strengthening the foundation of Nalanda. The initiative of the G20 University Connect program will help Nalanda students develop an understanding of global policies and study emerging challenges in the current context.
