Khabre TV: 9334598481 : The enlightenment emanating from the land of Nalanda has always advocated non-aggression. In this land where knowledge [shastras] got precedence over power [shastra]. The message of compassion and non-violence was sent out to the world from this heartland of Bharat.  I believe that the deliberations of the Bodh Gaya Dialogue will serve as a guide for our society in the future. Today, again, we need an inclusive, integrated thought perspective. Governor of Bihar, Shri Rajendra Arlekar said these words at Nalanda University, Rajgir while addressing the inaugural session of Bodhgaya Global Dialogues 2024 at Sushma Swaraj Auditorium today.





In the keynote address of the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor (I) of Nalanda University, Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh said that due to the emergence of a strong Bharat, the concepts of "One Earth. One Family. One Future." are realized.  Our inclusive and wide visionary ethos of vasudhaiva-kutumbkam, urges us to transcend silos and broaden our vision. Fragmented history builds divisive nations. He proposed for a new paradigm of comprehensive historiography, and added that our study of history is enriched when viewed through the lens of interconnected landscapes rather than isolated sites and fragmented regions. 




The 6th edition of Bodhgaya Global Dialogues 2024 is a collaborative educational event between Nalanda University and Deshkaal Society taking place on 16 and 17 March 2024 at the NU campus. This two-day program focuses on the historical heritage of Bodhgaya, Rajgir and Nalanda and the contribution of these regions to the knowledge tradition.





Noted journalist and author Arvind Mohan, President, Deshkal Society; Lieutenant General P.S. Minhas, Commandant Officers Training Academy, Gaya; Professor Vineeta Sahay, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya; Dr. D.M. Mule, Member, NHRC; Dr. Goutami Bhattacharya, ASI, Patna were present as the Guests of honour at the inaugural session of the Bodhgaya Global Dialogues programme.




This event is aimed to interlink disciplines like Archaeology, History, and Art, delving into the intricate dimensions of Buddhism. Through overarching themes, it seeks to spark intellectual dialogue and enhance understanding of Buddhist philosophy. Through various activities such as Plenary Sessions, Panel Discussions, Book Launches, and Cultural Evenings, attendees from diverse backgrounds will engage in a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences.
