Nalanda University and Dongguk University, South Korea sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual academic cooperation and research
Khabre TV : 9334598481 : Bureau Report : A high-level delegation from Dongguk University, South Korea called on its Chairman Mr. Wen. Dongguan, President Mr. Yun Jae-woong, Vice President and scholars visited Nalanda University for MoU for mutual cooperation in the field of academic and research. The program of signing the MoU was completed yesterday (dated 24 February 2023) at the office of the Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University. Both the universities agreed to include academic exchanges, joint research programs and other schemes in their purview.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Sunaina Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda University marked it as an attempt to reinvigorate the ancient ties of India and South Korea. The Vice-Chancellor said, "This academic and cultural exchange between Dongguk University and NU will lead to the development of an inclusive knowledge system in the future. One of the major objectives of Nalanda University is to act as a 'bridge' in connecting India to the world through the knowledge-route. '. This MoU will create harmony between the academicians of South Korea and India and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries."
Dongguk University President Prof. Yoon Jae-woong noted that as the new incarnation of Nalanda, this university is once again paving the way for old civilizational values and knowledge. He said that Nalanda and Dongguk universities are coming together in the spirit of strengthening a mutual academic collaboration. He also proposed assistance for teaching and learning in the developed form of Korean language in Nalanda.
A campus visit was also arranged for the delegation, wherein they were informed about Nalanda's efforts to make it a Net-Zero campus. The delegation appreciated the environment and aesthetic construction here.
The signing of the MoU between Nalanda University and Dongguk University assumes special significance as it is taking place at a time when India and South Korea are commemorating fifty years of diplomatic relations.
Nalanda has been a symbol of Asian wisdom for centuries. The University is all set to start its journey once again in its new avatar. Presently, NU has students from around 31 countries studying in its vibrant green campus spread over 455 acres. Vice Chancellor Prof. Under the leadership of Sunaina Singh, Nalanda University is once again emerging as a soft-power of global knowledge on the lines of ancient Nalanda.
