 In order to encourage other schools and youth players of Nalanda district including Sainik School Nalanda, under the Mukhyamantri Khel Yojana in the school premises, at a cost of about Rs.1.14 crore, Youth Arts and Culture Department, Government of Bihar Courtesy Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited  The sports complex (stadium) has been constructed by  This stadium is named after the famous international football player Mr. Shivo Mevalal born in Nawada district.  It is to be known that Mr. Shivo Mevalal was born on 1 July 1926 in Daulatpur village of Gaya district (present day Nawada).  You participated in many international football competitions including the Summer Olympics in London in 1948 and the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1951.  He is known as the father of the well-known bicycle kick and Rabona kick in football and scored a total of 1032 goals including 32 hat-tricks in his player career.

 On this occasion, a week-long Sainik School (Central Zone) football tournament will also be inaugurated by the chief guest.  Seven Sainik Schools located in five states of the country, Nalanda, Gopalganj of Bihar, Tilaiya of Jharkhand, Rewa of Madhya Pradesh, Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh and Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur from Orissa, respectively, a total of 208 participants of senior and junior categories participated in the said prestigious competition.  - Will represent his schools.  This seven-day football tournament will end on 7th July.
