Khabre TV : 9334598481 : On the occasion of the 9th International Yoga Day at Sainik School Nalanda, Nanand, a yoga camp was organized with great enthusiasm. The program was organized under the guidance of Mr. Aniruddha Kumar Singh, yoga instructor from Nalanda.
International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21st June all over the world. Yoga is associated with Indian culture and life values. Yoga is considered very effective in keeping people healthy and happy. The United Nations has kept the theme of International Yoga Day this year as 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'.
Keeping the above in mind, the yoga camp was inaugurated in the school premises at 6:00 am with the blessings of Captain (I.N.S.) Naveen Krishna Chandra, Principal of Sainik School. After that the yoga instructor made them practice various asanas and pranayama. Underlining the importance of Yoga, the Principal told that the tradition of Yoga in our country is very ancient and it originated thousands of years ago. It is believed that since the beginning of civilization, yoga originated. Lord Shiva is called 'Adi Yogi' in Yoga Vidya.
He said that Lord Krishna has also given the knowledge of equanimity, strength and samadhi in the Gita, as well as he discusses Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyan Yoga and suggests ways to get rid of sorrows. He further said that at present our lifestyle has become very busy, in such a situation if we make yoga a part of our daily routine then definitely our work-efficiency will increase. It may be noted that painting and essay writing competitions were also organized in the school to create awareness about Yoga.
On this occasion, the Vice Principal of the school, Wing Commander JS Ujwal, teachers, administrative personnel, general personnel along with their family children and women participated.
