Khabretv: Rajgir, September 14, 2024: Nalanda University, Rajgir and Bengaluru-based independent think-tank Synergia Foundation have joined hands for a two-day global conference on 13-14 September 2024 at the Net-Zero Nalanda Campus, Rajgir. The event will bring together policy experts, think tanks and subject matter experts from BIMSTEC countries for a series of high-level consultations aimed at promoting multifaceted cooperation among Southeast Asian countries. With a focus on how regional cooperation can advance sustainable development, discussions will also discuss the important role that Nalanda University, as a centre of academic excellence, can play in promoting regional cooperation and peace.

On 13 September, Nalanda University extended a warm welcome to all the delegates on its campus.  According to the Conference Coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Chaturvedi, “During this two-day conference, all delegates and participants will engage in high-level dialogue, as well as immerse themselves in the rich historical heritage of Nalanda with a visit to the ruins of ancient Nalanda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, our students will benefit from this wonderful opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the functioning of BIMSTEC member countries and an understanding of key strategic issues.” He also mentioned, “The conference will conclude on September 14 with keynote addresses by key representatives from BIMSTEC countries as well as the Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University and the Chairman of Synergia Foundation. These sessions will be followed by engaging panel discussions to generate actionable insights for the future of the region. A special lecture by Ambassador Pankaj Saran, Member, National Security Advisory Board, Government of India will be the highlight of the day. Nalanda University is committed to playing an active role as a key facilitator in bringing together the future leaders of Southeast Asia to promote regional peace and enhance understanding of critical issues affecting the region.”
