Rajgir, September 19, 2024; A two-day district-level philately exhibition, "Nalandapex," was inaugurated today at the Nalanda University, Rajgir The exhibition was inaugurated by Bihar’s Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shrawan Kumar, with the Shri Kaushlendra Kumar, Member of Parliament being the Chief Guest, organized by the Postal Department, Nalanda Division.

On this occasion, a special cover on Nalanda University was released.




Shri Kaushal Kishore, MLA, Chief Postmaster General, Bihar, Mr Anil Kumar, among the esteemed guests were Nalanda University Interim Vice Chancellor Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, Ordnance Factory Director General Anil Kumar Gupta, and Nalanda University Registrar, Ramesh Pratap Singh Parihar, were also present at the event.

On the first day of the exhibition, around 900 students from various schools of the district participated in competitions such as letter writing, painting, quiz, stamp designing, and cultural performances organized by the postal department.

Speaking at the event, Minister Shrawan Kumar stated, "Philately is not just a hobby but a medium to connect with the heritage of our country. This exhibition will ignite curiosity and learning among young students, fostering a deeper understanding of India's rich history."

Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, Interim Vice Chancellor mentioned, that “Promoting cultural heritage and educational activities inspire our younger generation to explore creative and intellectual pursuits, and philately contributes to preserving the inquisitiveness."

The exhibition will continue till Thursday, 19th September, featuring more activities and exploration of rare and old stamps.
