 KHABRE TV  - 9334598481 - Bureau Report - Delegation of Gen-Next Democracy Network Program of Bhutan visited Nalanda University.  As part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, a visit to the young leaders of Bhutan was organized yesterday at Nalanda University to give an overview of India's democratic traditions, cultural heritage and the current development.  The four-member delegation included Mr. Nawang Gyalchan, Mr. Pashupati Diyali, Ms. Sonam Yangden and Ms. Tshering Denkar, who are the leading youth leaders of Bhutan in the fields of business, art, culture, music and literature.  The team is on a visit to India from November 25. The delegation was welcomed at Nalanda University and apprised of the academic, literary and cultural aspects and activities of the University. 




Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof.  Sunaina Singh addressed the delegation through virtual medium, where she talked about the importance of revival of Nalanda, its international character and developing the university's interconnection with the world through the path of knowledge.  The Vice Chancellor's address emphasized the strong cultural interrelationship between India and Bhutan.  The delegation also held detailed interactions with the academic faculty members.  The engineering team of the University apprised the delegation about the architectural design of the University and the concept of Net-Zero.  The delegates appreciated the initiatives of the University relating to academic programs and the contribution of the Vice-Chancellor in the building of the University. During the program organized in the Mini Auditorium, the delegation met the students of Bhutan studying in the University and got to know about their experience.  




After this he visited the net-zero campus of Nalanda University spread over 455 acres.  During this, the professors and officials of the university present with him explained to him in detail about the buildings, resources and facilities present in the campus.  He was briefed about the architectural and architectural nuances of Nalanda University and its similarities with the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara. The delegation expressed interest in knowing more about the various environmental protection related initiatives being taken by the University and discussed the possibilities of academic relationship with Bhutan in future.  




He appreciated the unprecedented construction, well-planned academic and educational system being built in the university and described it as exemplary for the entire education world.
