 Raising the issue of Jarasandha Akhara under Zero Hour in Lok Sabha, Nalanda MP, Kaushalendra Kumar said that.





 Khabre Tv - 9334598481 - Aditya's Report - Nalanda MP, Kaushalendra Kumar raised the issue of Jarasandha Akhara under Zero Hour in Lok Sabha and said that Rajgir at Nalanda is the pride of Indian history.  It is a wonder place for today's youth and researchers.  In all the historical and important places of Rajgir and Nalanda, a Jarasandha Akhara holds its own identity and place.




 MP Kaushalendra Kumar said that the history of wrestling in Rajgir is very old.  Its history is found here from the Dwapara period.  Magadha emperor himself used to try his bets in this Jarasandha arena.  In this arena, many warriors including the Magadha emperor have tried their bets.  Before the beginning of Mahabharata in Dwaparkal, there was a war of 28 days between Jarasandha and Kunti's son Bhima.  It is also discussed in religious texts.  The story of the arena is also quite interesting.




 This akhara was filled with milk in those days.  Due to which its soil is still friable today.  Every year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Rajgir Mahotsav, wrestling is organized in this arena and wrestlers from many states come to place their bets in it.  It is one of the rare akhadas not only in the country but in the world.

 


 Shri Kumar said that this place is full of curiosity for the tourists of the country and abroad.  They are happy to know its glory and come to know about the Dwaparakal.  But with misfortune and regret, I want to say that the present condition of this Akhara is quite pathetic.  It remains only a mound.  Our heritage and glorious history is being neglected by ASI.  ASI has to understand the responsibility of maintaining such glorious heritage and historical sites.

 Seeing the plight and plight of the glorious Jarasandh Akhara and its importance, MP Shri Kumar demanded from the Central Government that the program of its development should be prepared at the earliest with the cooperation of the State Government.
