(KHABRE TV - 9334598481, 9523505786) - In  the light of complaints about the Nalanda Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) scheme, the District Banking Branch is constantly receiving complaints from the Senior Deputy Collector (Banking) Naveen Kumar Pandey at Hardev Bhawan Auditorium as directed by Nalanda District Officer. Had a review meeting. Apart from complainants and leading district manager Ratnakar Jha, representatives of Allahabad Bank, Central Bank, South Bihar Gramin Bank, Bank of India, PNB and SBI were present in the meeting.

Update status of applications

After getting permission from the District Task Force in the current financial year 2020-21 under the scheme, the District Industries Center forwarded 1017 applications to the banks, out of which only 100 projects were approved by the banks. In this, only 7 out of 204 applications have been approved by South Bihar Gramin Bank and only 2 out of 141 applications by SBI. Of the total 1017 applications, 353 projects have been returned by banks and 566 projects are pending at the level of banks. Of the 142 applications forwarded to banks by KVIC, only 7 have been approved, 93 projects have been returned by banks and 36 projects are pending at the level of banks. In this context, along with clarification from DBGB and SBI, it was directed to update the status of the applications.

The Senior Deputy Collector (Banking) said that the PMEGP loan of up to 10 lakhs is to be given to the unemployed without any bail, but complaints are being received by the bankers to pressurize the youth to bail and get property. In the course of the review, it was also found that many applicants are not able to make the banks aware of the specifics of their project, which makes it difficult for the banks to approve the project. The preferred sub-collector insisted on coordinating between the applicants and branch managers to put a stop to the rumors. The Senior Deputy Collector while addressing all the bankers said that this is a very important welfare scheme to create employment opportunities in the society. All bankers should ensure financing for the project concerned to maximum eligible people under this scheme. For this, bankers should work with sensitivity and generosity.

Workshop and special team formed

In this context, the Senior Deputy Collector directed the Lead Bank Manager to hold a meeting with banks and conduct a workshop related to PMEGP in which the bank branch managers and the beneficiaries of PMGP will participate. This will show awareness of the PMEGP scheme as well as the seriousness and sensitivity of the banks towards the scheme.

Also, the Senior Deputy Collector suggested to set up a special team to provide maximum benefits to the youth under this scheme, which will motivate the youth for self-employment in collaboration with colleges and other organizations in rural and urban areas. The DRCC will have an important role in this. For this, help should also be taken from Expert to give information of different businesses, so that the youth can know its nuances before doing business.

Entrepreneurs should be vigilant about fraud in the name of PMEGP

Recently, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has alerted entrepreneurs from frauds in the name of PMEGP. There have been reports of some incidents in which potential entrepreneurs / beneficiaries are being offered loans under the PMEGP scheme by private individuals or agencies, handing over loan approval letters and cheating them by charging money for them. . It is to be known that under the PMEGP scheme, from the receipt of the application to the acceptance and release of loan by the bank, the entire process of issuing the application and fund can be done only through the government portal operated by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. This entire process is absolutely free. No private party / agency / middleman / franchisee etc. is associated or authorized to approve and promote the PMEGP project or to provide financial support under the PMEGP scheme. It is completely illegal and fake to introduce loans under the PMEGP scheme to potential entrepreneurs / beneficiaries by a private individual or agency, hand over loan approval letters and recover money from entrepreneurs. The district banking branch should also be made aware of such anti-social elements.
