 KHABRE TV : 9334598481 : Bureau Team Report: In the press conference organized in the State Office of the Soft Tennis Association of Bihar, the Department of Art, Culture and Youth, Government of Bihar, brought medals at the national and international level every year to the outstanding players who brought glory to Bihar.  Every year on 29th August, on the occasion of Sports Day, the State Sports Award is given by the State Government, but due to the arbitrariness of some officials, some sports and players are denied this award. In which there are other sports including soft tennis.


 Dharamvir Kumar, general secretary of the Soft Tennis Association of Bihar, said that soft tennis is included as a medal game in the Asian Games being organized continuously since the year 1994. Also in the resolution number 846 dated 4/8/17 of the Department of Art, Culture and Youth.  It has also been clearly stated that only the Games included in the Olympic, Commonwealth and Asian Games will be included in the State Sports Award Ceremony.  Despite this, soft tennis has not been included in the award ceremony.  Due to which our players are getting discouraged and disappointed. While soft tennis is also included in the recognized list of Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India. Letters have also been given to the government again and again.  Despite this, soft tennis has not yet been included in the Bihar Khel Samman Award and Departmental Sports Panchang.  Last year too, on 29 August, the Sports Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister were gheraoed by the players at the state sports honor award distribution site and said either ban our game or give respect.  Despite the assurance of the Sports Minister, no list has been released so far.  The government should take out the order regarding soft tennis as soon as possible.


 On this occasion, State Vice President of Soft Tennis Association of Bihar, Alok Azad said that for the last 4-5 years, our players are making Bihar proud by winning medals by performing brilliantly at national and international level, while the sports department does not respect our players.  Due to which both the game and the player are being harmed.  Many sports in Bihar have gone downhill due to wrong policies of the government.  Whereas in other states, not only respect but also government jobs and various facilities are being provided to the players.  He questioned the government that why should any player play for Bihar.  The government has to issue sports calendar to promote sports without stopping the arbitrariness of the officials of the sports department and while providing employment to the players, the government will have to give due respect to the soft tennis players as soon as possible, only then the development of sports and players is possible.  It is possible


 Alok Azad, while demanding a job from the government, demanded to provide better resources to the players of the state so that they can bring laurels to the country and the state in the field of sports.  He said that the players have been waiting for a long time in anticipation of the job but now their grit is answering.


 During this, international player Ravi Mehta, who was involved in the press conference, said that if the government of our Bihar does not give due respect to the players, then one day Bihar will be playerless. We players are continuously giving medals to Bihar but the government is not doing its work properly.  doing |  We do our best in sports but are still unemployed. We were not even given a job. So that we can maintain our family and ourselves.  He urged the government that while providing encouragement to the players of soft tennis, he would order them to be included in the departmental sports calendar and sports honor ceremony.
