Khabre Tv -9334598481- Bureau Report - The 19th Foundation Day of Sainik School Nalanda was celebrated on 12 October 2021 with great enthusiasm and grandeur. Shri Shravan Kumar, Hon'ble Minister of Rural Development (Government of Bihar) was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest. On his arrival, Col Tamojit Biswas, Principal Sainik School Nalanda gave him a warm welcome. After receiving the Guard of Honour, the Chief Guest laid the foundation stone for the construction of the hostel and staff accommodation.
The 19th Foundation Day celebrations began with the ceremonial lamp lighting. In his welcome address, Colonel Tamojit Biswas, Principal, Sainik School Nalanda thanked the Chief Guest for accepting the invitation and for his gentle presence. The Principal apprised them that Sainik School Nalanda like other Sainik Schools had admitted ten girl cadets from the session 2021-22. Presenting the annual report, he said that during the pandemic the school was able to carry out all the activities smoothly through online mode. He highlighted the major achievements and mission of the school to provide quality education for entry into the Defense Services as officers.
The Principal also said that the school administration is constantly making efforts to improve the standards in the existing system by introducing innovations like providing better infrastructure, adopting new teaching methods and updating the existing facilities. The presentation of the annual report was followed by cake cutting and digital release of the school's annual magazine 'The Maurya' (Vol-XIII 2021). An enthralling and colorful cultural program was presented by the cadets on the occasion which included Sanskrit songs, memes, patriotic songs, Garba folk dance, Nari Shakti patriotic dance and English drama. A Kathak dance based on Ganesh Stuti by Cadet Krutika Vishwas, the first cadet of the school, enthralled the audience.
The Chief Guest presented awards, trophies and certificates to the cadets who have excelled in various academic, sports and co-curricular activities for the year 2020-21. The most coveted 'Champion of the Champions House Trophy' for the All Round Performer House went to Siddharth House. Cadet Raj Kumar was awarded the Best Cadet Trophy. Cadet Kanishk Ujjwal received the Academic Topper Trophy for Class X, while Cadet Keshav Kumar who is the District Topper of All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2021 received the Academic Topper Trophy for Class XII. Based on the overall academic performance, Siddharth House won the academic trophy.
In his address, the Chief Guest expressed happiness over the admission of Girl Cadets from the current academic session and assured all possible assistance in developing the necessary infrastructure. He appreciated the excellent result of the school. The closing ceremony of the Annual Athletic Meet 2021 coincided with the 19th Foundation Day of Sainik School Nalanda. Hon'ble MP from Nalanda Constituency Shri Kaushalendra Kumar was the Chief Guest. The impressive Dumbbell Show, Zumba, Acrobatic Display and Ring of Fire Jump enthralled the cadets, staff and guests. The Military Band team and Cavalry team of OTA Gaya enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances.
Horse riding show became the center of attraction. Triple Tent Pegging, Hanky Pegging, Pair Tent Pegging and Team Tent Pegging showcased the accuracy, courage and coordination of the horsemen and their mounts. An aeromodelling show including a radio control aircraft and a line control aircraft was organized by the School Aeromodelling Club. Siddharth House won the annual Athletic Meet Championship trophy while Mahavir House, the defending champions, got the runner-up trophy. Addressing the cadets, Shri Kaushalendra Kumar, Hon'ble MP (Nalanda) congratulated the cadets and staff for their excellent performance in academics, co-curricular activities and sports and games. He appreciated the efforts put in by the cadets and staff for a grand performance.
He also stressed on the need to imbibe in the cadets the qualities required for holistic personality development. Apart from the invited guests and guests, Wing Commander PS Gujral (Vice Principal), Major Ajay Chand (Administrative Officer), Shri VJ James (Senior teacher), school staff and all cadets were also present on the occasion.
