Khabre Tv - 9334598481 - Aditya's report - Vishwa Shanti Stupa, a symbol of peace and non-violence of Lord Buddha, Arrival of His Excellency the Governor, Bihar Shri Fagu Chauhan as the chief guest at the prayer ceremony organized on the occasion of 52nd anniversary of Lord Buddha's world peace in Rajgir took place in the stupa premises.
His Excellency was welcomed by District Officer Nalanda Shri Yogendra Singh. Secretary, Government of Bihar, Tourism Department, Shri Santosh Kumar Mal was also present on the occasion.
The function started with the national anthem. The function was conducted by Mahasweta Maharathi, secretary of Rajgir Buddha Bihar Society.
Ms. Mahasweta welcomed the bhikkhus chief Chalinda of Mahabodhi Mahavihara along with his Excellency the Governor, the bhikkhus from Bodh Gaya and other places, tourism secretary, District Officer Nalanda, Superintendent of Police Nalanda and other guests present.
He told that due to Kovid, the delegation of monks from Japan and other countries could not come and read the congratulatory message sent by them.
The congratulatory message of Honorable Chief Minister Bihar was also read.
Ms. Mahasweta mentioned the activities of Mahatma Buddha related to Rajgir and also threw light on the history of construction of Vishwa Shanti Stupa symbolizing the messages given by him for humanity and world welfare.
The worship ceremony in the stupa complex began with recitations by a monk following Fujii Guruji of the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Sangha. The puja was presided over by T. Okonomi, the monk head of the Rajgir Shanti Stupa.
The Tourism Secretary also greeted all the bhikkhus including His Excellency the Governor and mentioned about the ongoing projects for the development of Buddhist tourism center in the whole of Bihar including Rajgir.
In his address, His Excellency the Governor said on the relevance of the teachings of Lord Buddha that they are relevant even today and are full of world peace and human welfare. He said that he was feeling very proud to come to the function.
After the completion of the worship, His Majesty circumambulated the stupa.
