Representatives of all political parties were told that physical verification of all the polling station buildings in the district is being done. Polling booths which have become dilapidated will be shifted to the nearest appropriate building. He also requested the representatives of all political parties to do physical verification of the polling station buildings at their level. Based on the verification done at the administrative level and the proposal received in this regard from the political parties, the final decision will be taken and the proposal to transfer it to the polling station will be sent to the Commission through proper channel.
In view of the status of Kovid-19, the commission has sought a proposal for an assistant polling station for polling stations with more than one thousand voters. The district currently has 2248 polling stations. Of these, 920 polling stations have more than one thousand voters. A proposal for an auxiliary polling station will be sent for these polling stations. In this regard, representatives of all political parties were also requested to verify such polling stations at their level. A meeting will be held with all the election officials in the presence of political parties regarding the proposal received from them. On the basis of the unanimous decision taken in the said meeting, the proposal for the auxiliary polling station will be finally sent to the Commission.
Giving information to all the representatives, the District Election Officer informed that this time EVM and VVPAT of M3 model will be used in the election. So far 6300 ballot units, 3800 control units and 5400 VVPATs of this model have been received from various states in the district. The work of EVM's FLC (First Level Checking) will be done by Bell's Engineer from 25 June in the presence of representatives of all political parties.
All political parties were requested to appoint a booth level agent (BLA) and make the updated list available in the election branch. He was told that the work of continuous updating of the voter list is going on. Action is being taken to add, remove and amend the name in this list. All the representatives were requested to make more and more people aware to add, remove and amend the names of voters as per the continuous updating process from their level.
Representatives of other political parties including Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Communist Party of India, Bahujan Samaj Party were present in the meeting along with Additional Collector, Deputy Election Officer.
