The District Officer held a meeting today with the District Agricultural Officer, Assistant Director Horticulture, District Animal Husbandry Officer, etc. to facilitate agricultural operations.
All the officials were clearly told that there is no restriction on agriculture and allied works during the lock-down period. Therefore, it should be ensured that farmers do not face any kind of difficulty. For this, vehicles used in agricultural works will be issued as per the requirement of the concerned Block Development Officer / Sub-Divisional Officer. The District Officer directed the District Agricultural Officer to issue passes for vehicles as per the required level.
There is no restriction on the sale of meat, fish, chicken etc. during the lock down period. The District Officer directed the District Animal Husbandry Officer to contact the vendors of meat, fish, cock and keep the shops open. Wherever required, it was instructed to issue a vehicle pass from the competent level for transportation.
In view of the summer season, the District Officer instructed the engineers of PHED to constantly monitor the ground water level.
In this regard, he held a meeting with executive officers of all the municipal bodies through video conferencing.
All the municipal bodies were told that there is no restriction on the work of the tap water scheme during the period of lock down, so the implementation of the tap water schemes should be ensured. In the implementation of these schemes, instructions were given to ensure compliance with the precautions to be taken from the government and department level regarding social distancing and sanitization. Workers and workers engaged in these works were instructed to make masks and sanitizers etc. as per requirement.
The engineers of PHED were directed to ensure continuous monitoring of ground water levels. Where the ground water level is being found very low, the survey of the condition of the nearby handpumps was conducted and directed to ensure repair as required.
